Some time ago it was fashionable and prestigious to study law, economics or medicine. Not that those professions are no longer prestigious, but today the tendencies are a bit different. Nowadays more and more students go college to study social sciences or various cultures. Actually studying cultures has always seemed attractive to young people, because since childhood we long to something extraordinary and new for us. Many people can recollect being 10-year old kids and reading some articles about astonishing foreign countries. Sure, studying cultures in university is not only about strange traditions of some peoples, but a deeper understanding of traditions as such, of identities and anthropology issues. A good student who wants to get a degree in cultural studies is just obliged to read a lot of books, publications and nourish his personal attitude to many issues.
